Rope (broken) / Knot

Symbolic of betrayal or arrest: The rope is one of the symbols of the betrayal of Jesus by Judas. According to tradition, it was with a rope that Judas hanged himself after betrayal, in desperate repentance for his awful deed.

In Egyptian hieroglyphics, a knotted cord signifies a man's name, a symbol of an individual's existence.
